Designing Your Dream Pantry

Many of us have a dream home with ideas for a dream kitchen, a dream master suite, and even a dream outdoor living space. But, have you ever heard of anyone with ideas for a dream pantry? Perhaps it’s one of the areas of a home that’s overlooked, an afterthought, or (gasp!) unintentional. We challenge you to consider a new kitchen pantry or a remodeling project to update an existing one with intention, practicality, functionality, and of course aesthetic value. Here are some of our favorite kitchen pantries for inspiration. How will your dream pantry become a reality?

Classic, traditional, functional.

As an extension of your kitchen, even if it’s behind closed doors, your pantry should reflect and blend with the overall style of your kitchen and home. This classic pantry doesn’t skimp on the detailing, complete with curved custom cabinets and white beadboard walls. The oversized shelves, countertop, and drawers provide ample space for pots, pans, and appliances.

Minimum space, maximum capacity.

One of the many features that makes any pantry a dream pantry is its ability to store items in an organized fashion, yet still allow easy access. This closet pantry is only about nine inches deep, but maximizes the space perfectly. Shelving on the doors nearly doubles the storage space, too.

Elegantly organized.

There’s no rule that says you have to keep pantry doors closed so items are out of sight, especially when your pantry design reflects the elegance of your kitchen. This glass doorway, framed with shelves, is as useful as it is elegant. Store decorative soup tourines and cake stands in plain view, while small appliances and canisters sit neatly on shelves behind the doors.

Farmhouse functional.

This farmhouse pantry adds warmth with color and provides a backdrop for its contents. The rolling ladder makes it easy to reach the upper shelves, while keeping the traditional farmhouse feel. And there’s room to line the top shelves with all your favorite cookbooks.

Multipurpose pantry with style.

Is it a mini-kitchen, solarium, or a pantry? Why can’t it be all three? If you have room in your home to create an oversized pantry filled with natural light, plenty of cabinet storage and shelf space, we say go for it. This is truly a dream pantry for any epicure.
